SLJ - Day 3 Activity 3 The WWF World Wildlife Fund

Today I have learnt about World Wildlife Fund and the work they do all around the world.

1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal.

3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal.

1 - Freshwater seals 

2 - Building snow into piles so when the pups are born they don't die. Protects them from danger, like other animals.

3 - Yes it has been successful for the freshwater seals. 

SLJ - Day 3 Activity 2 The Secretive Skink

Today we have been learning about DOC rangers, they are in Great Barrier Island and Little Barrier Island.

These are three good things to be on Great Barrier Island and Little Barrier Island:

1 - You would be responsible for making sure the animals have enough food and water.

2 - Get to help look after the baby animals.

3 -Plant more plants.

These are the three bad things 

1 - Might have storms and I don't like being in storms.

2 - If people decided to come onto the island and cut down trees.

3 - You may not have internet.

I would like to be a DOC ranger because I get to look after all the babies and I get to see all the new trees growing.

SLJ Day 2 Activity 3 Weird and Wonderful

Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day. The question Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant? This is my way of solving the question.

SLJ - Day 3 Activity 1 Fantastic beasts

I was asked to create a beast this is my beast it is unicorn  it has 2 heads, 3 horns on each head,  big rainbow wings my unicorn lives in the city she flys around looking at people because she whats to be apart of the tooth fairy clan.  She smells like beautiful   roses, she feels soft like a kitten. this is my unicorn.

SLJ - day 2 Activity 1 Giants Among Us

I want to go to Tane Mahuta because it looks beautiful, my mum and dad as been there. It has nearly been there for 2,000 years  and still growing. It's  18 metres  to the first branch and 4.4 metres in diameter, I was surprised to find out this information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Christchurch as my hometown because of all the the beaches and all the gardens. I love all the flowers in the  gardens, they smell beautiful and delightful and are as colourful as a rainbow.  My favorite place is Margaret Mahy it's my favorite   playground because I love all the equipment and I and Olivia love the central library because there is lego, last time I  was there in the lego pit me and my sister bilt a jailhouse and there is  a slide, and there are  movies in town.   

SLJ - Activity 1. The legend of New Zealand

My top 3 fun facts are:

1 - I am glad there are no snakes in  NZ.

2 - The Auckland city Sky Tower  is  328 meters high and it took two years and nine months to build it, it opened  on the 3 of August  1997. 

3 - In NZ we have to drive on the left side of the road

Dear Mount shop

Thank you for having me and my sister in the holidays because mum was at work.  I loved putting away the car parts and sorting out the parts for the cars in numbers. Giving me this job, made me feel happy and helpful.  Thank you, dad, for buying me a sausage roll for morning tea, I loved It, it was yummy in my tummy. I would like to come back to the next school holidays with you. I found out I would be a great part of Mount shop.

 I didn't like watching number jacks on dad’s phone with Olivia because it is too babyish for me I would love to watch chicken girls.
