Aim: I want to find out what happens to Gummy Bears when we put them into different solutions.

Prediction: I think that the Gummy Bears will shrink or grow in the liquids.

Equipment:

1. 4x Gummy Bears of the same colour

2. 2x petri dishes

3. Paper towels

4. Marker pen

5. Water

6. Sugar Water

7. Salt water

8. Electronic balance

9. Beaker

10. Measuring Cylinder

Instructions

1. Get your equipment.

2. Put on your safety glasses

3. Using the marker pen, write the name of the conditions on the petri dish. DRY, WATER, SALTWATER, SUGERWATER.

4. weigh the Gummy bear and write on the petri dish.

5. Measure 40mL of the solution and pour it into the petri dish.

Discussion
1. The normal water was transferred into the gummy bear the most.
2. The dry gummy bear lost 11g over a week
3. The sugar water diffused faster than the salt water.

Diffusion is a movement of a substance form an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration, Diffusion happens in liquids and gases because their particles move randomly from place to place. Diffusion is an important process for living things; it is how substances move in and out of cells.
