Flying fan

 Hey Bloggers 

We are with Mrs Hastie, and we are making our own inventions mine was a Flying Fan.

We have to answer these 

1. Name of the Invention - Flying Fan

2. Purpose/ What it does - It cools you down on a really hot day or just any day

3. What is it made of - metal 

4. How does it operate -  When you start the fan, it will lift up, then it will follow you every were you go.

5. Does it need to charge - it needs to charge but because it is really big it needs to charge in the garage 

6. Who would use it - Me and people that get hot really fast 

7. Were would it be used - Every were even in a house.

For our inventions in Hur3 with Miss A we are learning about the Wheel back in time and now in 2021

We did lots of work about it here it is

there like are lots of wheels 22 and lots more. The first one is First Wheel used for pottery in Mesopotamia 4200-400BC

lots of poeple use Car wheels to get around, bike  and scooter

Athletics

 Hey bloggers 

Past the last 4 - 5 weeks of starting school we have been doing Athletics practices for the big day I have done the same thing like the shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, sprint and relays for a long time  

My favourite thing I have done was the relay races and sprint.

The two things I am not good at discus and shot put.

I improved in long jump and high jump.

I would like to do more high jump shot put and relays

Hands on fire

 Aim:Wash your hands

I want to Safely light hands on fire.

Before we do this activity safely we need to be aware of the safety features. 

Activity: In pairs you need to come up with a list of 5 items that need to be considered when doing this experiment 

1. Safety glasses

2.Don't do any eating or drinking

3.fire extinguisher  

4. tie your long hair up 

5. Take of any jewellery 

Instructions

1. Collect your equipment.

2. Put some water into the tray.

3. Squirt some detergent into the water.

4. Put on your safety glasses.

5. Tie up long hair.

6. Take off any jewellery.

7.Wet your hands, wrists and arms.

8. Bubble the gas into the water.

9. Scoop the bubbles but not the water.

10. Hold the bubbles in front of your of your face with your arms locked. 

 What id your senses say about this experiment.

I saw flames and fire

I felt bubbles and hot flames

I heard screaming and if it hurts I will not do it.

I smelled fire and burning hands.

The steam powered car

In Hurumanu 3 we learning about the steam power cars

Changing states of matter

 To change of water from solid to liquid to gas 

I think that the ice will melt first from the solid then the water will tern in to gas and steam up

1. Ice is placed in the beaker on the bench. Record its temperature.

2. Once the ice has thawed, the Bunsen burner is set up with the tripod, gauze mat, heat pad and mat and beaker.

3. The Bunsen burner is lit.

4. The thermometer is placed in the beaker of water 

5. The findings are recorded on the chart.
